GLBT Bookshelf

Here is a new endeavor that we readers of m/m fiction should know about: the GLBT Bookshelf, a "wiki" that has just been launched with the intent of eventually serving as a huge, one-stop resource for readers, writers, publishers, agents, cover artists, and reviewers of GLBT fiction on the worldwide web. We readers are all about the one-stop resource so this is worth checking out.

At the GLBT Bookshelf, you'll find fiction and authors catalogued and cross-referenced by the authors themselves. All involved in the community have personal pages on which they put their bios, bibliographies, and links to their websites. You can find fiction listed by genre and you can buy downloads in various formats at the "bookstore" You can access reviews and product descriptions.

If you want to mingle in the community and interact with your favorite authors, you can visit the forum. You can discover new cover artists and new reviewers and review sites. One thing that may appeal most to readers is the international flavor of the site. The people involved in this wiki come from many different places in the world and have fashioned here a global community.

As is stated in the GLBT banner, the GLBT Bookshelf is, "The Community for writers, artists, editors, publishers, booksellers, reviewers .. and readers! ... with two things in common: a passion for GLBT books, and the determination for independent publishing to flourish." This wiki should be a tremendous resource especially for people in more isolated parts of the world where it's hard to find a GLBT community and GLBT books to buy.

If you're a fan and like to blog about GLBT fiction, don't hesitate to join. You'll need to provide an email address; within a day or so, you'll have your own starter page to spruce up with whatever links and content you'd like to put on it.

There are a couple of basic rules to which you need to adhere: (1) don't edit anyone else's page and (2) structure your links so you're not hijacking traffic off the site – and a guide will show you how to do this. Otherwise, you're free to add your content. If you're familiar with basic blogging, you'll find the procedures on the wiki to be very simple, and there is more detail being added to the how-to sections all the time. Don't miss this chance to rub virtual elbows with a promising new GLBT community! Click to go to the GLBT Bookshelf. [I don't allow my blog posts to be copied in full.
